If
you have done any research on Las Vegas - outside of this site,
then you have likely been bombarded with numerous 'VIP' websites
claiming that you won't stand a chance of getting into a Las Vegas
nightclub without purchasing a package, that you will be standing
in line for hours on end, and that your night(s) won't be worthwhile
without someone else's help. Not true.
Keep in mind:
In Las Vegas nightlife, there are HOSTS and there
are INDEPENDENT HOSTS.
It is always a good idea to contact a HOST who
works directly for the nightclub first for a price quote before
purchasing any packages through a third party. We provide lists
of hosts for each nightclub: View
List On Main Page.
Contrary to their online promotions, independent 'VIP' hosts are
essentially middlemen for your reservations and should only be
used if you don't wish to handle things on your own.
Purchasing passes to skip lines through major retailers can usually
help things, but don't exactly expect the red carpet to be rolled
out: You often will still wait 15 minutes or longer.
Our site features a FREE and popularly referenced list of direct
contact information for senior hosts at most major
Las Vegas nightclubs. Use it for booking your table reservations:
thousands of people have successfully. View
List On Main Page.

For
nightclubs it is important to separate “Hosts”
and “VIP Hosts.”
HOST: Actually works for one specific Las
Vegas nightclub or group of nightclubs owned by one
company, is the one who will inevitably be handling your table
reservations, taking care of your party during the night, and
who will be expecting a tip at the end of the night regardless
of how often you actually see them.
INDEPENDENT VIP HOST: A third party person who
doesn’t specifically work for any one club, but has established
relationships with the hosts and doormen at most of the nightclubs
in Las Vegas. Their job, should you choose to use them, is to
do all of the work for you with the goal of ensuring that you
and your friends have a stress-free experience.
Services
usually provided by independent hosts are walking customers past
the lines, making table reservations, and scheduling limousines.
You will also see them selling various other less frequently sold
services like private jet reservations, golf, hotel bookings,
etc.

You might have heard of a person's table reservations getting
bumped when they booked it themselves, and there are two contributing
factors to that happening. First, if the person made the reservation
at the last minute through a "junior host" [one at the
club without much seniority], there is a good chance that the
next customer who booked through a host with more rank, or who
tipped more upon arrival, got their table honored instead.
You
always want to make sure that you are booking through someone
who has the most "pull" at the club, and you should
always plan to tip the appropriate amount. The reason VIP Hosting
companies rarely get their reservations bumped, is because they
have already factored in a specific tip amount for the host who
is handling the reservation. When the ultimate decision maker
knows they are "taken care of" $$ wise, the reservation
sticks.
*Footnote
from above: Nightclubs almost always sell out early on
Holiday weekends, and VIP Hosting companies flock to purchase
blocks of table reservations to re-sell to their clients. If you
are looking to book on a holiday weekend through the actual club
plan on reserving at least 3 weeks in advance and follow up the
week of.

Being
"VIP" is a state-of-mind, different for everyone.
The
term itself has been so excessively overused and put out of context
that is almost laughable to anyone who works in or around Las
Vegas nightlife. Nightclubs have written it on their free promotional
passes for years, independent hosts use it for everything that
they do, and people absolutely love to believe that they are more
“VIP” than the next guy.
The
Las Vegas entertainment industry and related businesses do everything
in their power to cater to tourists; including providing some
pretty exciting experiences that are unusual to most. There are
hundreds of limousines that work the strip, dozens of nightclubs
who provide table service at competitive prices, countless high-end
restaurants, and several golf courses ready for customers.
Is
it worth it to reserve the table service, eat a good meal, and
maybe ride around in a limousine with your friends? Absolutely.
That's called enjoying what Las Vegas has to offer. Just don't
run around yelling "Vegas Baby! I'm VIP!" as that is
anything but.

when you should and should not consider the use of an independent
