OFFICIAL
REVIEW OF EMPIRE BALLROOM
by Jack Colton, Updated
11/17/2006
Empire Ballroom
has been an enormous hit since it opened its doors in late 2005,
and has been especially popular as an after-hours hang out for
the very selective Las Vegas local and Southern Californian crowds.
The success of Empire Ballroom is undoubtedly due to a combination
of their status as the “hot spot” for nightlife service
industry employees (VIP Hosts, Cocktail Waitresses, Promoters,
and Dancers) to come to after work at around 4:00 AM, and by offering
their clientele a late night atmosphere that has been unparalleled
in Las Vegas since the former Club Utopia graced the site of Empire
Ballroom years ago.
If
you are looking for a place to party until the sun has risen well
beyond the Las Vegas Mountains or if you are just not ready to
go to bed yet: Empire Ballroom should be at the
top of your list of Las Vegas after-hours destinations.
*Tip:
Empire Ballroom occasionally charges an additional table
fee depending on the night, for special events, and for additional
guests at the table. This surcharge typically ranges from $100
- $200.

A
VIRTUAL WALKTHROUGH:
You will arrive to Empire Ballroom by car, limousine, or will
be dropped of by taxi cab. Directly to the right of your drop
off point is the main entrance to the club. The "door"
at Empire Ballroom is very efficiently run, and regardless of
how you are getting in – it shouldn’t take more than
about 20 minutes to walk through the ropes (unless it is a special
event or holiday weekend).
If you are
on the guest list or have a table reservation, you will need to
check in on the left side of the velvet rope to meet your host
or receive your entry stamp. If you are a general admission customer
you will wait in the fairly short line to the right for the doorman
to check your ID and let you through to the cashier just up the
ramp.
You will then
walk through a short hallway and then directly into the two story
main room of Empire Ballroom. What you see is what you get, and
what you get at this point in the night is plenty. There is a
set of stairs directly to your right that will lead into the upstairs
portion of the club (and balcony), two bars directly in front
of you, and bathrooms on either side of the main bar. I can't
really suggest a “best” place to hang out inside of
Empire Ballroom; it just kind of depends on where you are feeling
the most comfortable. The balcony upstairs is great to watch the
sun rise, the dance floor will get you up close and personal to
the music, the parlor room downstairs will allow you to escape
the crowd, and there is plenty of space upstairs to get a bird’s
eye view of the action from above. Wherever you decide to hang
out at Empire Ballroom, it is important to keep a great attitude
and to plan on having an amazing night.

INFORMATION
ABOUT EMPIRE BALLROOM:

When
to go to Empire Ballroom:
The club is best after 3AM on Thursdays (Locals Free), Fridays,
& Saturdays. Arrive earlier for special events and on holiday
weekends.
How
to get to Empire Ballroom:
The club is slightly set back from The Strip directly across the
street from the Monte Carlo. You should be able to see “Empire
Ballroom” signs as you pull up. If you are arriving by Taxi
Cab or Limousine, the driver will know how to get there.
What
to wear to Empire Ballroom:
The dress code at this club is slightly more relaxed than most
Las Vegas venues, but the same strict rules regarding jerseys,
baggy pants, shorts, and tennis shoes still apply. But with a
crowd as good-looking as the one at Empire’s after hours,
you won’t want to dress in anything less than your best.
