What is the JackColton.com Directory?
Originally when I began this project in March of 2006, I had intended on having a system where people who had found my content useful would be able to send me a “tip” using their credit card (much like everyone does in “real life” in Las Vegas). It seemed like a great idea at the time, but my merchant account underwriters were more than a little nervous about this concept, and asked me to go back to the drawing board. I got in the car, drove to El Pollo Loco, ordered a burrito, and designed what would ultimately become the Directory that is now being used on this site.

Since the first thing people seem to always want to do is buy me a drink when they see me out as a way of saying thanks, I thought it would be cool to setup a directory where for about the price of a cocktail everyone could be *permanently listed on this website with their name, web or MySpace link, where they were from, and a 50 character headline. Now that is exactly what you can do!

How much is it to get listed on the directory?

• Or however much you want it to be...

There are exactly 100,000 listings available for sale on the JackColton.com directory. The large majority of the listings will be purchased for a one time charge of $10 and all purchased listings will remain *permanently listed on this site in order of purchase date.

At the time of checkout you can improve your listing's ranking on the site by purchasing "a more expensive drink" for me. The more ad credits you purchase when you checkout, the higher your ad will automatically appear in the main directory.

All listings, regardless of ranking or number of ad credits purchased, will remain online as long as this site does and will greatly benefit from the “Advanced Search” feature that allows users to type in any keyword and find the listings that include their search term in the headline.

Who is checking out the directory?
The demographic I promote to typically fit in the middle class to slightly affluent 21 to 35 age range, but this site attracts people of all ages from all over the world. It is a safe bet that if you are reading this….there are thousands others with similar interests to yours checking out the directory (although I don’t make any guarantees on how many people will see your listing. Could be a couple of hundred people – could be a few million over time).

How long will the directory remain online?
Your listing will remain online as long as JackColton.com is online. I can personally guarantee my direct involvement in this site for at least until July 2008. But at the rate everything is growing? I don’t see JackColton.com going offline for many years to come as there is far too much value in it for everyone involved.

How do I add myself to the directory?
Signing up for the directory is easy. You will fill out how you want your name, 50 character headline, where you are from, and web link (if applicable) to appear. Enter in your credit card information through my SECURE server, and your listing will automatically be added to the JackColton.com Directory!

Security Note: In order to help prevent any possible breach in customer security, my development team took every possible preventable measure. All data on this site is “Encrypted,” verified to be secure through an SSL Certificate, and is handled through the most secure programming language available to me. Your credit card information will not be stored on my system, and will not be charged in the future.

Can I change or remove my listing at a later time?
My “official policy” on changing listings is that I don't really have time to do it, as I don’t know how much volume I can personally handle for minor changes. However; if you really do need to change your listing once, go ahead and e-mail me and I will try to get it done as soon as I can.

I will remove listings if you e-mail me asking me to pull your listing from the site, but refunds will not be issued in most cases past seven (7) days from the listing purchase.

Do you offer refunds?
I appreciate your kindness in listing yourself on my directory, and would like to make sure that you are as happy as you possibly can be. Your listing will be displayed exactly as you type it in, I make no guarantees on how many people will see it, and you are charged exactly what you see when you check out (in most cases $10).

However if for whatever reason you really want (or need) a refund of your $10, I will accommodate your request if you contact me within the first week (7 days) of purchase.
